Welcome to The Friends of Hove Rugby grant application process. The Friends is a charitable organisation that exists to help sports people in Hove and the surrounding area with financial support in time of need.
Our Charity’s objects are the advancement of amateur sport and community participation in healthy recreation by promoting the game of rugby (but not limited to that sport) for the benefit of the residents of Hove and the surrounding area and to assist in the provision of amateur sports facilities in the interest of healthy recreation for those who have need of such assistance by reason of financial hardship or social circumstances.
If your needs fall within the parameters of the Charity’s objects and you require financial support to pursue your goals we welcome any application for support. Reasons for requiring financial support are not specifically defined within the objects; we may, thus, consider an application from a broad brush of requirements to include support through injury, financial, touring requirements that you cannot afford and so on and so forth. We will not consider requests for club fees/sponsorship needs and the like.
Below is an application form for financial assistance. If your needs fall within the scope of The Friends of Hove Rugby then we would love to hear from you. The process begins with you (or your guardian for those not of majority) completing the attached Application and submitting it to the Charity’s Grants Coordinator who will present it to the Awards Committee for consideration.
This Committee may ask for further information on a case-by case-basis, and will make a decision on the application within 30 days of receiving all requested information. The Executive Secretary will advise you of the Committee’s decision and, if successful, of the next stage in the grant award process.
AFTER COMPLETING THE FORM
Should the application be successful we reserve the right to make public the broad nature of our offer, in order to further promote the activities of The Friends, but we will not disclose the detail except in confidence to our advisers and as required by law and/or by regulators (e.g. Charity Commission). It is possible that we might use personal information provided by you in order to conduct appropriate identity checks.
We will use the information you give us during the application process and during the lifetime of any funding for administration, analysis and research purposes. We recognise the need to maintain the confidentiality of vulnerable people, and your details will not be made public in any way, except as required by law.
